Coffee

Today, coffee is the third most popular drink in the world,
behind water and tea.

It is the world's 7th largest legal agricultural export as well.
Coffee seeds or more commonly known as beans grow
on evergreen shrubs that can grow up to 15 feet.
Coffee should be stored in airtight containers at room temperature.
Refrigerating coffee will have an adverse affect on the brew
because of the humidity and moisture that can be taken in
from being in the refrigerator.

If you crave a cappuccino and you don't have a milk frother,
use a blender to make the foam. Heat a 1/2 cup of whole milk to
a simmer in a saucepan or microwave and then put it in the blender
on high until the milk is foamy. Skim the foam with a spoon
and then put it over your hot brewed coffee.

Decaffeinated coffee comes from taking the beans while they are still
green and either soaking them in hot water or steaming them and using
a solvent to dissolve the caffeine-containing oils. Decaffeination is
usually done by processing companies and the extracted caffeine is
usually sold to the pharmaceutical industry.

Instant coffee is made from drying the beans and making the beans
into a soluble powder or more commonly known as freeze drying it
into small granules that we can dissolve quickly into water.
Instant coffee was invented in 1907 and gained a lot of popularity
during the post war period.
